The idea comes from an exchange with students from the Kantonal School in Altdorf. As a challenge, Oleg set up a "Future Hackdays Sandbox" with ideas from one of our workshops, and a futuristic design that might make the platform slightly exciting to work with for kids.

During the Data Hackdays, Peter and Oleg explored at a few alternatives, and got some additional feedback from teachers Fabian and Janick about similar learning materials that are already being used in classrooms around Switzerland. We used a Raspberry Pi 4 to test the idea of a open & offline-first digital classroom.

Similar to the Lernstick project we know from Bern, MoodleBox is a free project from Nicolas Martignoni, a professor in the Canton of Fribourg. It is aimed at collecting educational material for a focused teaching environment. We are trying to extend it with Dribdat and TinyLlama, exploring the potential of the use of complementary open source products within the environment of Moodle and Linux.

All attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff at our hackathon are required to agree with the Hack Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to ensure a safe environment for everybody.
